Understanding Your Library
Reading a Call Number
This brief video shows you how to understand call numbers on the spines of books and scores. In our Libraries, CDs are on a different local system, arranged merely by number. In the Getz Library, books are "ML" which is normal Library of Congress. However, Scores are "MP" (Music, Popular), which is not a standard call number. Teacher's materials are "MT" (Music Teaching), also not a standard call number. Most all other materials are standard Library of Congress call numbers
