This guide includes instructions for how to read Billboard in full-color, search for Billboard Charts, and includes information on Chartmetric, a resource to track streaming and social media music plays

Full-color, recent issues: Flipster is the best tool to read through the most recent issues of Billboard, with full color images.

 

Back-read, filter, and search articles: With Academic Search Premier, you can sift through back-issues, including some articles published on Billboard Pro.

Step-by-step instructions

 

1. Click here to browse issues of Billboard in a database called Academic Search Premier.

 

2. Open individual issues of Billboard from the index along the right side of the screen.

 

3. Browse through a full issue of Billboard, and skip to the last few pages to find the genre charts.

 

4. Click "PDF Full Text" to see scanned images of the charts.

 

5. To search for a specific chart, go back to the Academic Search Premier page and select "Search within this publication."

 

6. Enter the name of the chart in the second line of the search and select "Title" from the dropdown menu

 

7. Scroll through the results to view the progress of the chart from past issues.

Step-by-step instructions

 

1. Click here to browse issues of Billboard in a database called Academic Search Premier.

 

2. Select "Search within this publication" from the page.

 

3. In the second search field (after the AND) enter the name of the article you are looking for.

 

4. Sometimes articles that appeared in print have different names, so note the date of the website article you are looking at and the first sentence if you can't find the exact name of the article.

Current members of the Berklee community can request individual premium accounts. If you are a faculty member or have been asked by your professor to create an account for a class, please provide a list of class email addresses or alert your professor that our policy is to group add classes.
